‘TRUE’ RUNNERS WORLD – ED. 9
Well, it’s one of those days when, matter how hard you try, you just don’t have it in you. It just “ain’t” there…but you tough it out anyhow.
So, what will it be…?
How about a 12 miler aiming somewhere around 12:45, which may be around 12 -16 seconds off your marathon pace. 5 miles…all uphill…legs a bit wore out. No hydration the whole time.
Surprisingly, you feel pretty good though. There’s no pain anywhere. You could actually keep it going for awhile.
You take a look at that Garmin and you notice your pace was actually under 12 min. That’s a beautiful thing…a positive ‘surprise.’
*****The Real Runner Scheme*****
What if what you’ve heard about Real Runners is just wrong? Would you keep being brainwashed, doing the same things and getting the same results? Or would you try something new and radically different? To stop the madness,
GO HERE before this special report is removed.
**********************************
[[[[[OR]]]]] you’re having a great day. You woke up feeling pretty good. You finally had a chance to hit the sack early last night and you took advantage of it. You’ve been ‘amped’ all day looking forward to that evening run. No stress from work today so your heads in the right place.
You’re running at a great pace. Hydration is good. That strong finish is a virtual certainty.
Suddenly, one step & you feel something weird just below the back of your left knee. Uh oh, now it’s a ‘tweeking’ pain shooting down to the calf.
You slow it down but after about 300 yards, you shut it down altogether and walk. The pain is too much.
Here’s the thing –
We runners, tend to favor those positive surprises, but fear those negative ones’, especially when it comes to a serious injury, which is understandable.
×××For some of us though, it’s better to have somewhat consistent negative experiences (minus the serious injuries, of course), than to have to deal with a negative experience, once in awhile.×××
We don’t always do well with positive experiences all the time. It can be a bore. It’s less rewarding. Some of us would rather perform with the conflict. The challenges are what keeps some of us coming back.
Maybe replicating uncomfortable scenarios is your answer. Again, I’m not saying go out there and find the most creative way to blow your knee to shreds.
But consider the message. After all, whether you prefer the good or the bad, it’s still about your RUN.
So, have a good one.
